Roofing for the Wellington climate

Long-run steel

Our product of choice is long-run steel due to it’s durability against harsh weather conditions and coastal conditions – essential in the Wellington region.

0.55 gauge

We only install 0.55 gauge which is a thicker steel, less likely to dent and also has a greater resistance to uplift which is great for high wind zones in Wellington.

New Zealand made products from COLORSTEEL®

We install high quality, corrugated long run steel from COLORSTEEL® – the Kiwi brand well-known for producing roofing products for New Zealand’s weather conditions. COLORSTEEL® produces a variety of products suitable for mild to severe coastal properties, making the brand a perfect solution for a warm and dry home no matter where you are.

We also install ColorCote® – another well-known supplier of long run roofing iron in the New Zealand market.

Benefits of long-run steel from COLORSTEEL®

A COLORSTEEL® roof protects your property with very little upkeep – rain washing does the fair share of the work for you. How easy is that! For the parts of the roof that rain may not reach, simple washing with a soft brush and detergent will easily wash away dirt.

COLORSTEEL® long run steel is made from high quality grade steel, manufactured by New Zealand’s only steel manufacturer. Designed, rigorously tested and approved for our unique environmental conditions, COLORSTEEL® solutions withstand New Zealand at its most extreme – making it perfect for the Wellington climate. Our team of roofing experts will recommend the best product for your property.

COLORSTEEL® long run metal roofing is extremely lightweight. By comparison, concrete tiles can sometimes be ten times heavier. For new homes and renovation additions, this weight-saving can mean you may need less substantial, and less costly, foundations and support systems.

COLORSTEEL® long run steel roofs are clean and sleek in appearance. They are also available in a large range of colours to complement anything from a traditional to modern New Zealand home.

COLORSTEEL® allows you to perfectly match your spouting and fascia to your roof, keeping the style of your home’s exterior seamless and cohesive. The team at Element Roofing can help you to decide the most suitable colour for your roof.

Lightweight and solar reflective, COLORSTEEL® solutions reflect the sun’s heat, which helps keep the building cool in summer. That combined with wall cladding and insulation, makes for a warm house during winter. At Element Roofing, we provide wall cladding and insulation as part of your new or re-roofing project.

COLORSTEEL® long run steel comes in large sheets which means we can install it quickly – making for less disruption to your home.
