Cladding

We have experienced in-house builders as part of our team, which means we can take care of everything from minor cladding repairs through to full recladding projects.

Cladding is the external layer of your home that protects it from the elements.

What is it? What does it include?

This can involve repairing or replacing damaged sections, or in some cases carrying out a full reclad. At Element Roofing, we are required to reclad sections on around 90% of the roofs we work on.

Through Element Windows, we also deal with the more complex detailing around window installations, which is often where issues arise.

Why does my home need it?

If you have rotten or deteriorating weatherboards, it is important to address this early. Left untreated, the damage can spread into the framing, making the job significantly more complex and costly. Getting on top of it early helps avoid bigger problems down the track.

Why choose Element?

At Element, our recladding division is led by qualified LBP builders with extensive experience. One of our recent projects was a five-storey home in Kelburn that required a full reclad. We worked closely with the architect to remove all high-risk detailing and rebuilt the exterior using sound, modern construction methods.

Frequently asked questions

We assess the risk of rotten framing at the beginning of the project and include an estimated contingency in our pricing. While we cannot know the full extent until work begins, we will keep you informed and discuss any findings as they come up.

Each project is different depending on size and complexity. We can give a more accurate timeframe once we have assessed your specific situation.

In most cases, no. Occasionally it may be necessary, but we will work with you to find a solution that suits your household.

A wide range of cladding options are available, from traditional weatherboards to architectural steel systems. If you already have a preference, we are happy to work with that.

At Element, we have both builders and roofers in-house, so we can install most types of cladding on the market.
